Project - Girl with Wreath card

These holly background papers look great when they're used together on this hand-cut aperture card.

Both holly backing papers from the Victorian paper pad onto quality white paper

To make the card, mount one of the small motifs onto a larger piece of gold metallic card with double-sided tape and trim to leave a very narrow border.

Cover the front of a cream A6 card blank with the cream-background holly paper and the inside of the card with the green-background holly paper (both with double-sided tape).

Using the motif-piece as a template, position it on the front of the card and draw round it with a pencil where you would like to cut the aperture. Use a craft knife and ruler to cut an aperture 6-7mm wider all round than the motif.

Cut a piece of gold metallic card to make the frame for the aperture - cut it so that it's 7mm bigger all round than the aperture is. Add 6mm double-sided tape all round the edges and carefully stick it into place behind the aperture window. Carefully trim the metallic card to create a narrow gold edge to the aperture. Close the card and carefully stick the motif into place on the back of the card, placing it centrally in the aperture window.

Stick 3 strips of ribbon in gold and green to the front of the card blank with double-sided tape, overlapping the ends around the back of the card by a good few centimetres so that it doesn't ping off easily.

Add a greeting that's been mounted onto gold metallic card at an angle to the front of the card, then add a ribbon bow that's been made with both the green and gold ribbon with a strong tacky glue such as Aleene's.
