This fabulous DVD is crammed full of more than 350 great quality Kate Greenaway pictures in jpeg format that can be used for almost anything you want to!
All of the images on this disc are out of copyright and in the public domain in the UK, US and all countries that follow the same copyright rules, and therefore can be used as many times as you like without paying any royalties or commissions to anyone!
Wow! That could mean a whole new business for you with very little outlay - and with FREE postage and packing in the UK (only £1.99 anywhere else in the world), just think of the possibilities!
There are more than 320 colour images on this disc, plus a further 35 line drawings that are absolutely fabulous for use as digital stamps.
What I like especially are the little incidental pictures that are included that are decorations from book pages. There are flowers, fruit, a cat and even a pie - these are great for using as an extra little decoration on a verse or poem for the front or insert of a card.
The images have all been scanned at at least 300dpi and range from 393 pixels wide/tall (for several of the little decorations) up to 2952 wide/tall.
Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) was a children's book illustrator and author. Born Catherine Greenaway, she spent much of her childhood at Rolleston, Northamptonshire. She studied at what is now the Royal College of Art in London, which at that time had a separate section for women. Her first book, Under the Window (1879), a collection of simple, perfectly idyllic verses about children, was a bestseller.
'Kate Greenaway children', all of them little girls and boys too young to be put in trousers, according to the conventions of the time, were dressed in her own versions of late eighteenth-century and Regency fashions, smock-fronts and skeleton suits for boys, high-waisted pinafores and dresses with mobcaps and straw bonnets for girls. The influence of children's clothes in portraits by British painter John Hoppner (1758–1810) may have provided her some inspiration. Liberty's in London adapted Kate Greenaway's drawings as designs for actual children's clothes.
Greenaway died of breast cancer in 1901 at the age of 55.
The Kate Greenaway Medal, established in her honour in 1955, is awarded annually by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in the UK to an illustrator of children's books.
Some of her lovely images feature wintery children that would be great for Christmas cards.
The pictures are all fully named with the artist name and dates, publication it's taken from with date as well as the name of the picture/description, eg.
