Alphonse Mucha is hardly a household name for so many but his wonderful illustrious and decadent style will be familiar to almost all! Mucha (pronounced Moo-ka) (1860-1939) was a Czech artist who studied in Paris, working on producing magazine and advertising illustrations.

In 1894 he was working as cover in a print shop over Christmas when someone came in who was looking for an artist to produce a poster of Sarah Bernhardt, the most famous actress in Paris at that time. As all of the regular artists were away for Christmas, Mucha volunteered to produce a proof to see if they liked it.

Within 2 weeks he produced a stunning poster for her current play, Gismonda. She were thrilled with his work - and so successful was it that Bernhardt entered into a six year contract with Mucha to produce advertising posters for her plays.

A flurry of work followed for Mucha - paintings, posters, advertisements and book illustrations and thanks to that, we have a beautiful set here, full of wonderful pictures that are perfect for card-making!

This set contains 35 sheets, all A4, and includes motifs, pyramage, A4 prints and notecard/bookmark sheets, all of which can be used for personal use or for sale. Dress up the images with glitter or glitter glue an add gold metallic card for a really decadent look - just beautiful!
