This simple 40th birthday card can also be made in men's colours using the blue downloadable age motifs that are on the same sheet as the cerise ones.

A square hammer white card blank has been used here. Print the cerise downloadable '40' background onto hammer white paper and cut a 6cm strip to fit down the left hand side of the card. Stick it with double-sided tape. The '40' motif can be downloaded for free by clicking here. Print the sheet onto hammer white card and cut out one of the 4.5cm wide motifs. Mount this onto a larger piece of silver metallic card with double-sided tape and trim around to leave a 2-3mm border. Stick the panel to the card blank with sticky pads.

Finish the card by adding some gems to the bottom right of the card and a single one to the motif.
